Chambersburg, PA - July 1st, 2009 After an extensive R&D effort, Integrity Ag Systems announces the availability of a packaged system that allows dairy producers to make sanitized bedding from the undigested plant cellulose in the manure produced by their animals. The Integrity BRS1000 Bedding Recovery System costs $44,995 and includes separator, pump and controls. It is suitable for scrape dairies with herd sizes from 100 up to 1,000 cows

The Integrity BRS1000 generates revenue for the farm by eliminating the need to import sawdust which, in many locations, has become increasingly expensive and/or difficult to obtain. According to Company spokesman, Brad Whitsel, "the system generally has a neutral ROI on dairies of 100 cows but generates significant revenue on larger dairies. The system produces approximately twice the bedding needed for the herd which enables the producer to sell bedding off the farm for a second source of revenue." Whitsel explains that "the bedding is sanitized by injecting bedSTAT®, an ecologically friendly sanitizing agent in the reception pit prior to separation. Test data generated by Cornell University documents the pathogen kill."

According to Tim Rensch, Company President, "A cheap, reliable source of bedding enables the producer to bed their animals liberally which increases cow comfort and overall health which may result in increased milk production. Bedding with farm-sourced plant fibers is becoming increasingly widespread."
